🇮🇳 Make in India cGMP Certified IIT Hyderabad Patient-First End-to-End R&D

Our Approach

Quality-driven, Patient-Centric Innovation seamlessly translated through end-to-end capabilities — from R&D and process development through cGMP manufacturing to clinical trials. We manage the entire lifecycle, ensuring quality and operational efficiency at every step.

A Paradigm Shift in Oncology

Cell and Gene Therapies (CGTs) represent a fundamental shift from chronic disease management to definitive, durable remission — targeting the root molecular and cellular drivers of cancer.

CAR T Cell Manufacturing Workflow

1
Cellular Harvest
T-lymphocytes are collected from the patient (autologous) or healthy donor (allogeneic) via leukapheresis.
2
Genetic Modification
Cells are engineered using viral vectors or CRISPR/Cas9 to express Chimeric Antigen Receptors (CARs).
3
Ex Vivo Expansion
Modified cells proliferate in bioreactors until reaching the therapeutic dose threshold.
4
QC & Reinfusion
After rigorous quality control, the product is cryopreserved and transported back for patient infusion.

The Advantages of CAR T Cell Therapy

🎯

The "One-Shot" Potential

Engineered cells function as a living drug — they can multiply inside the body and persist for years as "cellular sentinels," enabling long-term remission after a single infusion.

🔬

High Specificity

Unlike chemotherapy's broad-spectrum toxicity, CAR T cell therapy is engineered as a precision sniper — targeting specific markers like CD19 on leukemia cells while leaving healthy tissue intact.

Effective Against "Untreatable" Cancers

Often a lifesaver for patients who have already relapsed or failed multiple lines of chemotherapy and bone marrow transplants, working through an entirely different mechanism.

⏱️

Shorter Treatment, Quicker Recovery

The absence of aggressive chemotherapy and a significantly shorter treatment time reduces patient recovery time and overall treatment burden.

Next-Generation Cell Therapy Pipeline

Three innovative cellular immunotherapy platforms engineered to overcome the limitations of current therapies.

Product A

Duo TriCAR T Cells

Moving from standard CAR T-cells to TriCAR T-cells represents the next frontier in cellular immunotherapy designed to overcome antigen escape-driven relapse. Duo TriCAR enables expression of two CAR molecules on each LVV-transduced T cell — targeting three cancer antigens simultaneously.

Targets (B-Cell Malignancies)

CD19 CD20 CD22
IndicationB-cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (B-ALL)
IndicationDiffuse Large B-Cell Lymphoma (DLBCL)
StatusPhase I/II Clinical Trials (Global)
StageNext-Generation / Cutting-Edge

Key Advantages of TriCAR

Drastically Lowers Relapse Rates. By shutting down the primary avenue of tumor resistance (antigen escape), remissions are expected to be far more durable and permanent.

Overcomes Tumor Heterogeneity. A TriCAR T-cell can wipe out the entire diverse population of cancer cells, rather than just a CD19-positive subset.

Expanded Patient Eligibility. Patients whose leukemia naturally lacks CD19 can still be treated if they express CD20 or CD22 — a group excluded from standard CAR T therapy.

Triple Anti-Tumor Redundancy. For the cancer to escape, it would need to simultaneously mutate and lose all three antigens — a biologically rare event.

Product B

Dual Anti-BCMA/CD19 CAR T Cells

A single engineered T-cell equipped with two different chimeric antigen receptors — one targeting mature plasma cells (BCMA) and one targeting early B-cell precursors (CD19). One cell, two bullets. This "one product, multiple usage" platform offers unprecedented versatility.

Targets

BCMA CD19
Indication 1Multiple Myeloma (RRMM & NDMM)
Indication 2Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE)
Indication 3Systemic Sclerosis
Indication 4Organ Transplant Desensitization

Why Dual Targeting?

Prevents Antigen Escape in Multiple Myeloma. Anti-BCMA eliminates the mature tumor mass while anti-CD19 hunts down the myeloma stem cells that cause relapse.

Immune Reset for Autoimmune Diseases. Completely purges the entire lineage of antibody-producing cells, effectively "rebooting" a patient's immune system to a healthy state in SLE and Systemic Sclerosis.

Organ Transplant Desensitization. Clinical trials show successful desensitization of "highly sensitized" patients, enabling compatible kidney transplants after years on waiting lists.

One Product, Multiple Indications. A single manufacturing platform addressing oncology, autoimmunity, and transplant medicine — expanding market access and clinical utility.

Product C

Extracorporeal Photopheresis (ECP)

A blood-based immunotherapy (also called photochemotherapy) where white blood cells are separated, treated with psoralen (8-MOP), exposed to UVA light (365 nm, 2 J/cm²), and safely returned to the patient. This process reprograms T-cells to either suppress unwanted immune attacks or stimulate targeted cancer destruction.

Mechanism

PBMCs Apheresis Psoralen (8-MOP) UVA Photoirradiation Immune Reinfusion
PrimaryCutaneous T-Cell Lymphoma (CTCL) — ~43% ORR
PrimaryGraft-versus-Host Disease (GVHD)
PrimarySolid Organ Transplant Rejection
EmergingAutoimmune & Rare Disorders

Clinical Applications

CTCL — First-line FDA-approved therapy for advanced Sézary syndrome and mycosis fungoides. Overall response rates ~43%, complete response in 10% of patients.

GVHD — Second-line for steroid-refractory cases. Highly effective in both acute and chronic GVHD, particularly when initiated early after diagnosis.

Organ Transplant Management. Used in heart and lung transplants to reduce immune rejection while allowing physicians to reduce toxic immunosuppressive medication loads.

Emerging Autoimmune Applications. Off-label exploration in Crohn's disease, systemic sclerosis, atopic dermatitis, and other refractory immune conditions.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is cell therapy? +
Cell therapy is a medical approach that transfers healthy, specialized, or genetically modified cells into a patient to replace damaged cells, restore organ function, or treat diseases like cancer. It includes stem cell therapy, immune cell therapy, and gene-modified cell therapy such as CAR T cells.
What is CAR T cell therapy? +
Autologous CAR-T cell therapy is a personalized precision medicine customized for each patient. The patient's own T-cells are collected, genetically engineered in a cGMP lab to express Chimeric Antigen Receptors (CARs), expanded to therapeutic numbers, and re-infused to seek out and destroy cancer cells. Dr. Remedies aims to make this technology affordable for Indian patients through indigenous manufacturing.
Why is CAR T cell therapy currently so expensive? +
Cost is driven by specialized manufacturing technology, expensive critical reagents, highly trained scientific oversight, rigorous multi-layered quality control, and extended hospital stays. Each autologous product is manufactured individually per patient — unlike mass-produced drugs. Dr. Remedies' Make-in-India approach directly addresses these cost drivers through indigenized processes.
What is TriCAR T cell therapy? +
TriCAR (Trivalent CAR-T) is the next generation of cellular immunotherapy where a single T-cell is engineered to simultaneously target three distinct cancer antigens — such as CD19, CD20, and CD22 for B-cell malignancies. This overcomes antigen escape (the primary cause of relapse with standard single-target CAR T cells), defeats intratumoral heterogeneity, and enhances immunological sensitivity.
What is Dual BCMA/CD19 CAR T cell therapy? +
A dual BCMA/CD19 CAR T-cell is a single engineered T-cell equipped with two different chimeric antigen receptors — one targeting BCMA (expressed on mature myeloma plasma cells) and one targeting CD19 (expressed on B-cell precursors). This "one-cell, two-bullet" design is used in Multiple Myeloma, Systemic Lupus Erythematosus, Systemic Sclerosis, and organ transplant desensitization.
What is Extracorporeal Photopheresis (ECP)? +
ECP is an immunomodulatory therapy where white blood cells are collected from a patient's blood, treated with psoralen (8-MOP), exposed to UVA light, and safely returned to the body. This reprograms T-cells to suppress unwanted immune attacks or stimulate targeted cancer destruction. It is FDA-approved for Cutaneous T-Cell Lymphoma and widely used for Graft-versus-Host Disease.
Which CAR T therapies are approved in India? +
India has two CDSCO-approved CAR T therapies: NexCAR19® (Actalycabtagene autoleucel) by ImmunoACT/IIT Bombay for R/R B-cell Lymphomas and B-ALL, priced at ₹30–40 Lakh; and Qartemi® by ImmunoACT for domestic CD19-targeting supply. Both validate the viability of affordable Indian-manufactured cell therapy — the path Dr. Remedies is advancing further with multi-antigen platforms.
What is the future of CAR T cell therapy? +
The field is shifting from autologous to allogeneic ("off-the-shelf") platforms, cutting treatment timelines from weeks to days. In vivo CAR T cell generation via lipid nanoparticles could eliminate expensive ex vivo manufacturing entirely. Next-gen armored CARs and logic-gate designs are tackling solid tumors, and expanding indications now include autoimmune diseases, cardiac fibrosis, and organ transplantation.
